Would you like to use your flying skills to advance aviation int erest and safety through education and emergency services? Are you a pilot with your Private or higher ticket? Do you want pass your love of flying on to a new generation? Want to increase your flight time in the air at no cost to you? The Civil Air Patrol(CAP)flies "Missions for America" using one of the largest civil aircraft fleets in the world. CAP’s fleetof single-engine piston aircraft consists primarily of Cessna 172s and 182s. Our pilots fly to perform missions in service to local communities, in response to national emergencies and to introduce the excitement of flight to CAP cadets and educators/ Maintained to Air Force standards, our volunteer pilots fly thousands of hours every year, most of which are paid for while fulfilling missions and program goals. If you have the skill and the desire to give back to aviation, we'd like you to fly with us. As a pilot, you may be familiar with the Civil Air Patrol and some of what we do, even if you do not recognize our name. CAP is the US Air Force Auxiliary. As such, CAP performs 95 percent of all inland search and rescue for the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center. If an aircraft is overdue on its flight plan or an Emergency Locator Transmitter is triggered; CAP personnel are activated to search and locate. Although this is a core component of our mission; it is only a small part of what CAP does. CAP pilots fly reconnaissance missions for homeland security, disaster relief, and even counterdrug operations at the request of government and local law enforcement agencies. In times of disaster, CAP pilots will fly to assess damage and transport emergency personnel. When not flying traditional emergency missions, cadet orientation pilots fly orientation rides for cadets and teachers while maintaining their own proficiency. Want to FLY for CAP.. contact us!

Description

Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, is a nonprofit organization with 61,000 members nationwide, operating a fleet of 550 aircraft. CAP, in its Air Force auxiliary role, performs 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and is credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 100 lives annually.
Though Civil Air Patrol is known for its flying missions, CAP adult members, known as Senior Members, do so much more than just fly. In fact, less than a fifth of all CAP members are pilots or aircrew members. CAP adult members come from all walks of life. Your participation will help support and carry out the Civil Air Patrol's three missions: emergency services, the cadet program and aerospace education. Its volunteers also perform missions at the request of federal, state, and local agencies. The members serve as mentors to more than 26,000 young people currently participating in the CAP cadet programs.
While there are many youth programs in America, the CAP's cadet program is unique in that it uses aviation as a cornerstone. Thousands of young people from 12 years through age 21 are introduced to aviation through CAP's cadet program. The Civil Air Patrol is a great way for youth to learn, to lead, to experience the thrill of flying, and have opportunities to attend leadership encampments, career academies, and other activities during the summer.
