We are hosting an adoption booth at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge (Western Regionals) in Huntington Beach on the Beach. We need help with set up and take down, help at the booth talking to the public about fostering and adoption, handing out fliers, selling calendars, t-shirts, collars/leashes, doggie neckties and bow ties, cookies, cupcakes and brownies, and of course, loving the foster dogs on site. There is no age minimum or maximum, just make sure it's okay with the parents, please. This is a public event on public property and you must use good judgment while at the event. It's a large event with a lot of great competition demonstrations going on and 2 rescue groups will have booths. We are one of the rescue groups. Old English Sheep Dogs have the booth next door and they are super nice ladies. There will demonstrations of agility, surfing dogs, disc dogs, diving dogs and lure course. They are competing for the Western Regionals and winners will go on to the national finals. There will also be food trucks and lots of people. We would love the help if you can join us and if you are a club or student needing community service hours, we are happy to complete your school or club forms even if you bake but don't help at the event - that still counts as helping our rescue and we are so grateful for the help!! We don't need a lot of volunteers on site and we are flexible regarding timing but we do need bakers desperately, so if you have that talent, we could sure use the help. If you have any questions, shoot an email to Patti and nationalbrittanyrescue@gmail.com or call 310.994.1062. It's always fun and it's a great venue. When I tell you fun - if you love animals and love to see them working, don't miss this event. Honestly, it is the most fun we have of all of the events we are invited to. The booth hours are from 10-4 but we need help setting up at 9:30 and taking down at 4. You can sign up for a shift or stay the day. It's up to you. If you like to bake, we need help with the bake sale. We want to try to sell cupcakes, brownies and cookies to pay for fosters Monique and Gigi's expensive surgeries. If you have a baking specialty, we can do that too - just tell us what so we can bring proper serving pieces/plates, etc.

Shift one: 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Shift two: 11:45 - 2:45 p.m.

Shift three 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

We are working of fundraising for Monique and Gigi, whose vet bills are quite expensive. Please call or email with any questions and we would be delighted to meet you. Thank you for reading this post.

If you want to check out our website, please go to www.nbran.org or friend us on twitter (@brittrescue), Facebook NBRAN Brittany Rescue or friend me Patti Lavine, and you can link the event to your Facebook page.

Thank you so much and have a great day!

Patti, Monica, Monique and Gigi

Mission Statement

National Brittany Rescue & Adoption Network (NBRAN) is an alliance of dedicated Brittany rescue volunteers who share a deep love for the breed and who will work to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Brittanys in need, whether abandoned, lost, stray or surrendered to rescue for placement. As volunteers united in a common cause, we are committed to the care of these dogs in foster homes, and providing for their physical and emotional needs. We are committed in our endeavor to help them with all the resources we have available.

We pledge to maintain a community of volunteers who treat each other, and the dogs they rescue, with respect, courtesy, kindness and love. We will seek always to lend encouragement and to support one another, and to facilitate friendly collaboration and cooperation between our volunteers. We believe that by building a supportive, dog-centered organization founded on respect, honesty and integrity, we will always remain focused on the welfare of the Brittanys entrusted to our care and hold their interests uppermost in our hearts and minds. Our mission is to place these dogs in safe, loving and permanent homes with approved applicants, and to provide a supportive network for our volunteers, who after all, make our goals possible.
