If you love working with kids, please consider joining our Family Literacy classroom in the evening. A Children’s Room volunteer would help kids with homework, read to children ages 4-11, help with homework, join in the learning activities, and assist the para-educator in many other ways. PLATTE VALLEY LITERACY ASSOCIATION (PLVA) is a nonprofit Organization partially funded by the Columbus Area United Way. PVLA partners with Central Community College Adult Education to provide educational opportunities including:

GED preparation classes

GED testing center

Adult Basic Education tutoring & classes

English as a Second Language classes & tutoring

Family Literacy Program - for the children of our students

Citizenship classes & tutoring

Career Readiness Training
