We need dependable volunteers to help with adoption events on Saturdays and Sundays and also through the week.
We need foster homes to save more animals at the shelters. To foster, you need to be able to care for the animal and bring him/her to some of the adoption events on the weekends.
We have volunteer opportunities for transporting animals to and from adoptions, helping at the stores with adoption applications and talking to potential adopters, walking and showing the dogs and cats and giving them attention, helping set up for adoptions and packing up for transport back to their foster homes.
We need volunteers for these locations every weekend:
PETSMART - Katy I-10/Fry - 19945 Katy Frwy, Houston, TX 77094 ------------ Sat. 9-6, Sun. 11-5
PETSMART - Pearland - 3119 Silverlake Village Dr., Pearland, TX 77584 ------- Sat. 10:30-5, Sun. 11-5 PETSMART - Shoppes at Parkwest - 24600 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX 77493 ----------- Sat. 10-5, 11-5
You can volunteer for both days or one day, the whole time or 2 or more hours. Even a few hours can make a difference for the animals.
This is a great opportunity to bring a significant other, teenagers or friends to help.
Volunteers need to be 16 or older to volunteer.
We also need cat caretakers to cover both weekday & weekend morning and evening cat care shifts at PetSmart on I-10 at Fry Rd in Katy and Parkwest PetSmart in Katy. It takes about an hour to feed, scoop litter boxes, straighten up the their cages and give them attention. Times are flexible - mornings around 9 or 10 is the preferred time. Evenings, the preferred time is between 5 and 7. Kids over 10 may accompany a parent. You must be at least 18 to come alone.
We also need transport volunteers during the week to help with transport for the animals
to and from vet appointments for spay/neuter surgeries and other medical care.

Mutts and Meows Rescue is a non-profit, foster based, no kill animal rescue group. Our mission is to save the lives of as many homeless and abused pets as possible. We do this by pulling from high kill shelters in the city and placing them in loving, safe homes through our adoption events at area PetSmarts on weekends.
Description
Mutts & Meows Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue. We work closely with other rescues as well as animal control departments in the Houston area to place dogs and cats in loving, permanent homes. Our pets live with foster families, so we know them well enough to make a good match between people and pets.
