Join us in supporting a supply chain from farms to families in Massachusetts! We organize volunteer projects to harvest, sort, and pack surplus food from local farms for distribution to families facing food insecurity. No experience is necessary-only a willingness and ability to lend a hand in physical, active work. All volunteers are trained on each trip. All volunteer activities have strict healthy and safety protocols as well as COVID-19 precautions.

Volunteer projects may take place at the Gleaners' headquarters at Stonefield Farm (91 Martin St. in Acton) or at partner farms throughout Eastern Massachusetts. We may be harvesting, sorting produce, or packing food boxes for distribution. Be sure to register on our website to stay in the loop about goings-on!
About Boston Area Gleaners, Inc.
91 Martin St., Acton, MA 01720, US
Boston Area Gleaners is committed to supporting an equitable, just, and sustainable local food system. We fulfill our mission by building innovative partnerships with local organizations and businesses in order to bridge food distribution gaps, improve healthy food access, prevent on-farm food waste, and create new markets for locally grown produce. Our vision is to sustain a permanent agricultural supply chain that will improve the viability of local farms and the health of communities who have historically suffered from inequity in the food system.
We need your help to assist us in harvesting, sorting, and packing fresh local produce for families facing food insecurity. No farming or gardening experience is necessary to join us on a project!
We partner with farms across eastern Massachusetts to harvest their surplus crops, and also host volunteers at our facility in Acton to sort and pack food for distribution. All of volunteer projects are supervised by our experienced and knowledgeable staff.
Interested volunteers are encouraged to sign up on our website. Farmers interested in donating to us can also register on our site.
