Provide ongoing care, feed, and support to the horses in the rescue barn. Help maintain the barn, pasture, and fencing (mowing, trimming, ect.). Barn chores generally take 2 hours. We are in need of volunteers to help the shift leader with morning, evening and weekend chores. Only serious inquires please.

2 Shifts

  • evening / 04:30 PM to 06:30 PM EST
    Horse care volunteers need to volunteer a minimum of once a week.
  • morning / 08:00 AM to 11:00 AM EST
    Horse care volunteers must volunteer a minimum of once a week

BSER mission is to preserve equine integrity. Our goal is to restore and maintain the health of the horses we acquire and to place them in caring, responsible homes. We also educate the public on how to care for horses, the commitment involved, and the importance of humane treatment with the hopes of reducing abuse and neglect.

Description

The Bay State Equine Rescue, Inc. is comprised of dedicated volunteers whose compassion for animals runs deep, particularly the horse. We rescue and rehabilate abused, neglected, or slaughterbound horses. Through educational programs we hope to decrease backyard abuse and neglect, auction sales, and poor breeding standards. BSER endeavors to be instrumental in proving that horses, having suffered severe neglect or abuse can be salvaged to lead healthy, stable lives.
