Mission Statement

The primary mission of VSEDC is to facilitate community development of the South Los Angeles area by providing programs structured to revitalize the physical, economic and social life of the community. In order to realize this objective, VSEDC has developed and implemented a comprehensive approach to community economic development that includes business development, technical assistance and training, residential housing, commercial and industrial development.

Description

Since 1981, VSEDC has stimulated economic development in South Los Angeles through commercial projects, affordable housing initiatives and business development.

To support the needs of small businesses in Los Angeles, VSEDC operates the City of Los Angeles BusinessSource Center for the South region. BusinessSource is funded by the City of Los Angeles Community Development Department to provide training, counseling and access to capital services for small businesses.

VSEDC operates the City of Los Angeles BusinessSource Center for the South Los Angeles Region. BusinessSource is funded by the City of Los Angeles Community Development Department to provide comprehensive business services to ensure businesses are profitable and sucessful.

Services are delivered primarily at VSEDC's Business Enterprise Center which is a micro-business incubator which offers affordable office space and support services for start-up and established businesses. Services provided include:
