Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
The West End Museum run entirely by volunteers is looking for a volunteer greeter who will welcome visitors to the Museum, and maintain a warm, friendly environment. Free parking is available!
Assist visitors in navigating the museum
Provide materials and handouts to visitors
Ask visitors to sign in and sign out
Handle the sale of museum merchandise and small donations
Friendly and personable
Comfortable talking with visitors
Available a minimum of 2 hours Wednesday through Friday 12 PM - 5 PM
No prior knowledge about the West End is required. Free parking is available!
About the West End Museum:
We are a Boston neighborhood museum looking for people who are interested in the history and culture of Boston. The West End Museum is dedicated to the documentation and preservation of the former West End neighborhood’s cultural heritage.
You can expect to find a casual enviroment of friendly men and women. Previous knowledge of the neighborhood is not required, but a general interest in history is recommended.
