We Love Volunteers!
Volunteers under the age of 17 must have a parent or guardian with them at all times. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to help with cat care and 14 to walk dogs. Cat and dog volunteer training is set up on an individual basis. Get your zen on taking care of our feline friends- feeding, cleaning cages, and playing with our cats.

Mission Statement
Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter is a non-profit 501(c3) organization made up solely of volunteers. We are committed to taking care of the dogs and cats in the shelter and finding them happy homes. We also strive to raise awareness, provide education, and work to better the living conditions at the shelter.
Description
FOPAS rescues from Platte County Animal Control, Platte City Animal Control, Smithville Animal Control, Plattsburg Animal Control, Kansas City Animal Control, North Kansas City Animal Control, Kansas City, Kansas Animal Control, and more. The shelter is operated by volunteers, so we do not have hours or paid staff. Our adoptions occur each Saturday at Petco in North Kansas City, or at PetSmart in Liberty (first and third Saturdays only at this location). We also make appointments during the week to meet with potential adopters.
