The Home Team Program is a county-wide volunteer program of the Baltimore County Department of Aging. Volunteers visit seniors who are confined to their home, unable to drive, live alone and are at-risk of becoming socially isolated in the community. Seniors (in need)can participate in the Home Team by calling our office. They can also be referred through a human service agency or a primary care physician. Home Team volunteers work with the seniors, Home Team staff and referral sources to ensure the seniors remain socially engaged and connected to the community. They provide the necessary social interactions and well-being checks to help seniors remain independent in their homes longer.

Make the preferred one year committment and agree to visit with a senior for at least one hour per week. The weekly time commitment can be a combination of phone calls and in-home visits. Volunteers must also have their own dependable vehicle with current car insurance to travel to and from the senior’s home. Volunteers MUST submit a formal report EACH MONTH of their time spent with the senior and document any issues or concerns.
