Position Summary:

Do you love to help children and have interest in helping to grow their math skills and succeed in school? Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents, and retirees. Positions are filling fast so apply today!

Duties or Responsibilities:

Math Enrichment Tutors work with paired groups of students (fourth through eighth grade) who need extra support with math. Tutors are trained to use a variety of scripted Minnesota Math Corps strategies, called interventions throughout the day. Tutors work with the same student pairs for a total of 90 minutes during the week. Tutors are also trained and supported to conduct quick and easy math assessments, and enter the student data into an online data system each week. Tutors will review student data on a regular basis with their internal coach to monitor the progress of each student, and to know if they need to change their tutoring to better meet each student’s needs. Tutors will maintain confidentiality of all student data.

Tutors will attend required Math Corps sponsored trainings to learn the Mathematics strategies, and will receive the support of a coach in order to implement the strategies successfully.

In addition, tutors may also attend some site-sponsored activities such as book fairs and family nights
