The day center at Transition Projects offers a number of immediate services to individuals who are expriencing homelessness. Among these resources is a volunteer run computer lab. Our volunteers ensure that participants can access computers for housing and employment searches, correspondance, and internet browsing. This not only allows us to offer additional resources to those walking through our doors, but also increases the amount of space available to those looking for a safe and welcome place to spend their day. Our day center is open weekdays from 7am to 7pm and weekends from 8am to 4pm. Volunteers are welcome to fill any open shift between those hours. A typical shift will last 2 hours, but volunteers can stay longer if they desire.

Description
Transition Projects is a leader in transitioning people experiencing homelessness into housing in the city of Portland, and Multnomah County, Oregon. Founded in 1969, Transition Projects is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency and operates and manages nine unique locations and places hundreds of people into housing each year throughout the Metropolitan area. Transition Projects offers programs, resources and tools to individuals through access to social services including case management, shelter, basic needs, support services, mentorship, and housing. Currently, Transition Projects has a staff of 205, and annually serves more than 10,000 people.
