Do you have 2-4 hours a week to help people in our community learn what they need to feel successful and supported in such areas as completing job applications, reading to their children, navigating computers and technology, studying for the GED, budgeting, learning how to write, and other areas of critical importance to build long-term life skills.
San Mateo County Community Learning is seeking VOLUNTEER TUTORS to work one-on-one, in small groups, or in conversation clubs with adult learners . Location : East Palo Alto Library.
NEXT Training: Sunday Oct 9, 2016. 9:30am to 3:30pm, Half Moon Bay, CA.
Our tutors:
Help people achieve their educational, career, and personal life goals
Meet with their student 2 to 4 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months
Change lives and develop relationships
Share their love of reading, writing, and other life skills
Are patient, flexible, thoughtful and have a good sense of humor
And most importantly, they feel great about what they do!
As a volunteer tutor you will receive FREE TRAINING and ON-GOING SUPPORT . No previous experience is needed. The volunteer must be 18 or older. Positions are available at the East Palo Alto Library.
