We are looking for volunteer committee members to join our Events Committee! Members will attend monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of each month from 1-2pm at the Words Alive Office. Meetings run throughout the year as we have small-scale events in the spring and summer, then our annual fundraiser in the fall - the Author's Luncheon.

Members will assist the Chair and Staff with deciding on authors to feature at upcoming events, volunteer and tabling needs, event logistics, communication efforts around events and for day-of support. Volunteers can help with raffle, silent auction, registration, decorating and set up, book signing and much more!

Responsibilities

• Work with Chair, Development Manager and Executive Director to select event venue and date and determine budget for Author’s Luncheon.
• Work with Chair, Author Liaison and Warwick’s (or other publisher relationship) to select an author, coordinating with budget, desired venue and date.
• Work with Chair, Development Manager and Executive Director to set event ticket price and sponsorship levels as well as attendance and sponsorship goals.
• Attend montly committee meetings and scheduled events as needed.
• Work with luncheon committee to develop timed agenda for the luncheon and to secure any non-author speakers (e.g. emcee or Words Alive program participants).
• Attend the event, facilitate set up and clean up, be available for logistical support.
