Volunteer Description:
Our staff and volunteers are our most important resource and our means of building client relationships to meet needs with practical solutions which spiritually transform individuals and our communities. Specifically we are seeking somebody with strong interpersonal skills who can assist our Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting, motivating, and coordinating our volunteers. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in non-profit volunteer management or human resources.
Responsibilities:
- Actively recruit and interview prospective volunteers for all AGAPE programs
- Assign and coordinate volunteers for on-going and special events
- Conduct orientation training for volunteers
- Work with our Extended Services Coordinator to organize our fund raising and community outreach events
- Maintain database of volunteers, including contact information, interests, skills, hours of availability and time worked
Requirements:
- Must possess excellent organizational, planning and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Looking for someone that can commit to 3-10 hours per week
- Attend monthly staff meetings, not required but encouraged
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency and experience with database programs
- Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
- Respond to emails in a timely manner
Training and Supervision:
Volunteers must first attend a Volunteer orientation. The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will then receive hands-on training with a member of the Human Resources department. Volunteers will have direct access to a staff supervisor for questions, issues or concerns while performing their job.
Days/Hours of Operation:
AGAPE is open during the following hours:
Monday, Tuesday and Friday - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Thursday - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Time Commitment:
Applicants considering this opportunity are asked to commit to 3-10 hours per week for a minimum of at least six months.

Description
AGAPE is a non-denominational, faith-based mission to serve the people in our area. Our goal is to "fill in the gaps" which currently exist between people in need, and the community services available to assist them. We refuse to allow good people to fall through cracks in the systems that were designed to help them.
