Our neighbors need your help!
The Clothesline is a free clothing store for low-income individuals and families in Seattle run by West Seattle Helpline. We provide new and like-new clothing to members of our community who are working toward self-sufficiency. This means coats for young children to keep them warm on the playground, professional clothing for job interviews, new shirts and pants for fast-growing young adults, and more.
As a Clothesline volunteer, you will help sort incoming clothing donations, stock and organize our clothing store with high-need items, and assist our clients as they shop for the clothes they need for themselves and their family. You will work alongside our core of weekly Clothesline super volunteers who can answer any questions you have along the way.
The Clothesline is currently open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 11:30am-1:30pm. We have just relocated to a bigger and better location and we are hoping to add volunteers to help with existing shifts, especially on the weekends. We're happy to work with your schedule and welcome both one-time volunteers or those interested in a regular weekly/monthly opportunity!

Mission Statement
The West Seattle Helpline is a non-profit social service agency offering temporary emergency assistance for West Seattle neighbors. We provide financial aid and referral advice to members of our community who find themselves in need. We also have a clothing bank where families can get 3 free outfits every two months. By providing access to a wide range of information and community services we also help people find their way toward self-sufficiency.
Description
Each year we help approximately 1,200 West Seattle residents who, because of illness, loss of employment, disability, limited income, or a combination of circumstances, find themselves in need. Our services include direct aid toward rent, utilities, food, clothes, transportation, and referrals to other needed services. We do problem solving with clients to find long-term solutions. The Helpline is funded by individuals, churches, and businesses in West Seattle.
