Volunteers are the backbone of the museum. We'd love your help in the following areas:
Interacting with Children: Show the children how to properly and safely use exhibits. Suggest area and activities the children might enjoy trying.
Supervising and Maintaining Exhibits: This means you will walk around from exhibit to exhibit, restocking supplies and making sure the museum is clean and safe.
Preparing Materials and Supplies for Special Events: You might be asked to cut things out, assemble parts, blow up balloons or any number of other fun jobs to help us prepare for special events like birthday parties, field trips, workshops, etc.
Serving on a Committee: If you enjoy planning fundraising events and programs or have experience in the areas of marketing, non-profit governance or construction/exhibit design, consider joining one of our committees.
Internships: Want to gain real-world experience while making a different at the museum? Internships offer hands-on opportunities to boost your resume and improve your skills.

Explore More Discovery Museum engages young minds through interactive, multi-sensory learning experiences that promote greater understanding of themselves and the world.
Description
1. We believe that children are naturally curious and learn through active exploration. Authentic, hands on learning experiences are the basis for all museum activities.
2. We recognize that children have unique learning styles. Museum exhibits provide opportunities for auditory, visual and tactile experiences.
3. We respect teh role of families as their children's first teachers. Interactive exhibits support this realtionship by encouraging cooperative learning and exploration.
4. We support and enhance the educational goals of local elementary and home schools.
5. We highlight the diversity and rich history of our community. Explore More Discovery Museum is a community effort and partnership, enhancing quality of life in the Shenandoah Valley.
