We are a group of volunteer puppy raisers for Guide Dogs for the Blind located in San Rafael, Ca. and we welcome youth and adult volunteers located in both Central and South Orange County. We support Guide Dog's mission by raising puppies in our homes from the time they are 8 to 12 weeks old until they are approximately 16 months old when they are returned to the campus and are then professionally trained to become guide dogs.
We are in need of both puppy raisers and puppy sitters who are able to raise or puppy sit a puppy in their home. No prior experience is needed, we will train you. If you are interested in learning how you can raise a puppy to change a life, contact us for further information.
PLEASE NOTE, GUIDE DOG PUPPIES ARE RAISED IN OUR HOMES. The Guide Dogs for the Blind campus is in Northern California so there are no short time volunteer opportunities at a local facility.
Check our our puppies on our Facebook pages: Paws for Independence OC
