Our volunteer roles play a crucial part in the success of our league and the overall athlete experience. We currently have two opportunities available within our organization to make a positive impact on the community. Coaches: Our coaches play a huge part in the functionality of our games throughout each season. Individuals can volunteer to coach as many games as they would like, but the minimum commitment is 2-hour blocks (2 games). The coach's role on game day is to set the batting order (mark who is in attendance and who is not), prepare athletes to bat by making sure they are ready if they are up next, and assigning our buddies (other volunteer opportunity) to our athletes to ensure their safety and help them play baseball, while having a fun interaction and getting to know each other. Additionally, coaches provide support on the field and monitor buddies and athletes to maintain a fun, safe environment for all. Coaches are also eligible to gain service hours for their efforts. Buddies: Our buddy program is at the core of the athlete experience, and an enormous part of the game day experience. Individual buddies can register for 2-hour blocks (2 games) or more. During their assigned games, buddies are paired up with an athlete to help them in the field, and also if they need assistance batting. Buddies run/walk the bases with their athlete and provide a fun, safe, encouraging environment for all athletes. The goal is for new relationships to form, create an amazing athlete experience, and have fun! Buddies are also eligible to gain service hours for their efforts.
