Key Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals with developmental disabilities and other barriers to promote creative self-expression and personal growth through a variety of art related actives.
  • To provide enthusiastic and motivational support to program participant while they engage in activities.
  • To encourage confidence and self-esteem.
  • Types of actives include but not limited to:
    • Assisting to put aprons on participants
    • Building companionship
    • Cleaning and putting away art supplies (i.e. cleaning paint brushes)
    • Distribute art supplies
    • May help put together "products"
    • Take photographs of products
    • Assist with sewing when needs arise

Time Commitment

  • Monday
    • 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
    • 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday
    • 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
    • 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
  • Wednesday
    • 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
    • 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Thursday
    • 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
    • 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
  • Friday
    • Closed

Length of Appointment

One shift per week (times listed above), ongoing. Minimum of six months commitment.

Qualifications

  • Dependable, mature individual with a positive attitude who is willing to take direction for program leads.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and other barriers is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Must possess patience, reliability and dependability.
  • Some knowledge of arts & crafts required.
  • Enthusiastic and encouraging attitude.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must submit to, and pass, a criminal background check.
