The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
As we expand our hospice services further south in St. Louis, we are looking for compassionate volunteers willing to visit with our terminally ill patients either in their home or in a nursing facility in areas near: Oakville, Mehlville, Lemay, Affton, Crestwood, Sunset Hills, St. Louis Hills, Kirkwood, Bella Villa, St. George, Webster Groves, Green Park, and Fenton. Volunteers are needed to offer direct support to patients and sometimes respite help so caregivers can run errands. Volunteers do not administer medications or perform any nursing duties. You will receive specialized training conducted by Crossroads staff.
