Computer Skills Achievement
Kelly Bertrand receives a certificate for advancement in computer literacy from Claire Kuratnik, a volunteer tutor.

Are you adept with computers? You can help someone learn vital computer usage skills by tutoring at the Twin Lakes Literacy Council. You don't need to be a teacher to make a significant impact on another person's life. You just need a good heart and a little bit of preparation.

We live in an increasingly digital environment, and if you are lacking the skills necessary to navigate the computers all around us, you may be left behind or left at a disadvantage. Volunteer to tutor computer skills, today, and help someone to increase their quality of living.

Description

We are a 501(c)3 organization of volunteers who provide free tutoring in reading, math, basic computer skills, and English as a Second Language to both children and adults in Baxter County, Arkansas since 1986. Last year the volunteers tutored over 150 people and donated more than 6,000 volunteer hours to this community. Most of our volunteers dedicate 1-2 hours per week to their student, at a time convenient to both the tutor and student. All of the necessary training for a tutor to accomplish his or her goal is provided free of charge by the Twin Lakes Literacy Council, and opportunities for further training are available throughout the year.
