Hope, Healing, and Empowerment for Survivors of Sexual Violence!

Become a Sexual Assault Response Advocate (SARA) at the YWCA Delaware Sexual Assault Response Center (SARC).

Volunteer to answer crisis calls from our center or from home.

Volunteer to be the on call advocate to respond to local hospitals or police stations to accompany victims thru forensic exams and or reporting.

Volunteer to help educate others by helping our outreach team at local events to support survivors.

We provide all volunteers crisis intervention and advocay training and hands on apprenticeship.

Description

Hello, we are a 24/7 Sexual Assault Response Center (SARC) that provides a 24/7 rape crisis hotline and a resource/respite center for survivors of sexual violence and those impacted by it in New Castle County DE. We like to invite volunteers that are good listeners, non- judgmental, compassionate and ready to serve those impacted the crime of sexual violence to join us. Either by answering the 24/7 hotline calls, becoming a trained sexual assault response advocate (SARA’s) who will assist with the rape crisis process or by being a support person for our resource/respite center. Having prior work/volunteering experience in the sexual violence field helpful but not required. Free 50 hour trainings will be provided. Volunteers must be 18 years and up. Volunteers must agree to have a criminal back ground check. We look forward to hearing from you. Able to work from home must have a compter and secured internet ( No public wifi's).
