The San Diego Museum of Art offers a variety of rewarding opportunities to support the Museum as a volunteer. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the institution and perform many important functions.
Opportunities for volunteers include:
- Helping at our annual fundraiser Art Alive
- Helping with special projects
- Assisting visitors at the front desk and at special events
- Conducting visitor surveys
- Ushering and taking tickets at our concerts, lectures, and films.
- Serving in the Museum's art reference library and offices
Volunteering at the Museum is not only a great way to meet people, learn new skills, and enjoy The San Diego Museum of Art’s cultural offerings, but it is also an important means of serving the community and enriching people's lives by connecting them with art.

The San Diego Museum of Art, the region’s oldest, largest and most visited art museum, provides a rich and diverse cultural experiences. Located in the heart of beautiful Balboa Park, the Museum’s nationally renowned permanent collection includes Spanish and Italian old masters, South Asian paintings, and 19th- and 20th-century American paintings and sculptures.

- Pick and choose dates would like to volunteer, based off monthly volunteer newsletter.
- Min age is 18 years old. Must meet with staff for quick zoom orientation and fill out Museum's Volunteer Paperwork prior to volunteering. We have a quick meeting to go over the volunteer packet and answer your questions.
