  • 17 people are interested

The Time In Children's Arts Initiative is providing an arts immersion that begins from Pre-K and alternates between opera through hands-on studio art in our light-filled Chelsea studio and museum visits and gallery hops to some of the city's leading contemporary art venues. Serving over 600 children/week from some of NYC's most underserved public elementary schools in Harlem and the South Bronx, The Time In Children's Arts Initiative looks forward to your joining us!

We are seeking an experienced marketing professional to help us develop and implement a marketing plan including client-customer relationships, building a sustainable donor base, identifying target populations, brand development, product placement, digital integration, design of marketing materials, and identifying internal/external resources to address potential opportunities. The volunteer should be willing to train the staff in best practices for the use and implementation of the plan.

The ideal candidate has a passion for the arts and education.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Mission Statement

MISSION: To transform the lives & learning of disadvantaged public school children, ensuring that equality, opportunity and access - to the arts and through the arts - become staples of public education. VISION: Time In will change the face of education. Continuously and creatively, we will engage the arts to ensure that children have the tools and support to flourish, thrive & hope. VALUES: Life-long learners and leaders emerge not from punitive time outs, but from effective participation in the real world. Time In ensures that children, who would otherwise have no access to services of this quality, receive the knowledge and support they need to become effective creators, as well as engaged, responsible & thoughtful participants in our democracy. Every child, regardless of socio-economic background, is entitled to a thoughtfully crafted, arts-enriched education in which each child is recognized, and the support for a brighter, better future is more than just a promise.

Description

Founded in 2006, The Time In Children's Arts Initiative, is transforming the lives and educations of some of New York City's youngest and most underserved public elementary school children through an intellectually and aesthetically invigorating arts immersion that integrates opera, art, museum visits, gallery hops, language and literature into the normal school day. Fusing artistic, intellectual and socialĀ-emotional learning, Time In brings entire grades of children out of underserved classrooms and into the world of the contemporary arts every week, providing unprecedented access to the highest quality of artistic enrichment that New york City has to offer.

Regardless of their backgrounds, children are children: the world of imagination, creativity and fantasy is their most fertile ground. Time In acknowledges children's phenomenal gifts and innate abilities, ensuring innovative and substantive learning environments that stimulate, rather than stifle. Through its immersive arts intervention, Time In will continue to foster not only wonderfully conceptual thinkers, but perceptive and culturally sensitive individuals, each of whom will be poised to nourish our society in the days to come. Joyously engaging the arts to ensure underserved children the tools and support they deserve to flourish, thrive & hope .
