We are looking for volunteers. The Pinedale Manor Unit of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula has a beautiful garden that needs help with maintaning its beauty! We have planted and grown tomatoes, carrots, leafy greens, fruit, potatoes and more in vertical gardens and raised beds.
We are looking for a lover of gardening that can commit to at least 1 hour per week. Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:
* Educate Club members on the proper way to prepare, plant, grow, and harvest vegetables
*Oversee garden procedures
*Educate Club members on additional gardening information when garden work is low or absent.
Interested individuals would have the opportunity to educate Club members on different topics of their own interest as well as help in the post harvest, cooking classes where we will be using the freshly harvested vegetables in our recipes!! Any needed materials will be provided.
