Volunteer as a Driver with Vision Loss Resources. Help a visually-impaired individual get to their appointments, events, and places they want to be without having to rely on friends/family all the time or use time-consuming and costly public transportation. This small task is a huge help!
This is an on-going volunteer opportunity. Volunteers typically work with a blind or visually-impaired partner on a regular basis--usually 1-2 hours every other week. You pick up your partner at their front door, escort them to your car, drive them to their location, and escort them inside. You can make a direct connection with someone and make a big impact on their life and independance.
This is an easy and flexible volunteer opportunity. Scheduling is flexible. We will match you with someone who lives near you. (We work with clients throughout the Twin Cities.) Mileage reimbursement is available with proof of insurance. Training and support are provided.
Contact Vision Loss Resources today to learn more about this rewarding opportunity! 612-871-2222 or volunteer@vlrw.org.
