Tuck-in-Call Volunteer Opportunities
Heartland Hospice of Stevens Point
Do you enjoy communicating over the phone? Tuck-in-Call volunteers contribute to the Heartland Hospice mission by providing needed office support. By providing patients who live at home with a friendly check in call to ensure their needs are met or questions are answered before each weekend. We are looking for a volunteer to commit to this opportunity on Wednesday's or Thursday's for 3 hours any time during office hours. Tuck-in-Call volunteers will volunteer in Heartland Hospice's Stevens Point office. If you are looking to give back to the community and gain valuable experience, then this may be the right opportunity for you! Please contact our volunteer coordinators, Amanda Cottrell or McKenzie Jorgenson at our office today at 715-344-4541 for more information!
About Heartland Hospice of Stevens Point
3233 Business Park Dr., Stevens Point, WI 54482, US
We believe that our mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter: our employees, our patients and those who love and care for them, the communities in which we operate, our stakeholders and those who are yet to become our customers.
Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice focuses on enhancing the quality of life, rather than the length of life. It neither hastens nor postpones death; rather it affirms life and acknowledges dying as a normal process. Hospice care stresses human values that go beyond the physical needs of the patient. It ensures that patients spend the end of their life in dignity and comfort.
At Heartland, we consider our involvement with each patient a sacred opportunity and a privilege to be in their lives. We depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need.
Volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help. Some volunteers interact directly with patients and families, while others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer, you would help us decide which tasks your are comfortable performing.
