Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is hosting a Volunteer Orientation Training - and you're invited!
Our program lends a helping hand to seniors in our community, neighbor to neighbor, by providing free transportation to medical appointments, trips to the grocery store, reassurance calls, and friendly visits. Our Honey Do Crews assist with minor home repair and maintenance projects.
Our volunteers have the flexibility to select which requests speak to their hearts and to perform as many or as few hours of service per month as they like, and opportunities to serve exist to accommodate just about anybody's schedule - days, evenings, and even weekends.
All volunteers are required to attend ONE Volunteer Orientation Training session.

Mission Statement
THE MISSION of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is to support the independent living of older adults and people with disabilities by lending a helping hand, neighbor to neighbor.
Description
Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley is dedicated to helping older adults (60+) in Kanawha and Putnam counties sustain their independence and remain in their own homes as long as possible. Our volunteers help our care receivers by performing small acts of service that can mean the difference between aging in place and being forced to leave their homes. These include providing free services like transportation to medical appointments or the grocery store, making friendly telephone reassurance calls, performing minor home maintenance tasks, and more.
