Join us to preserve and celebrate this popular aircraft carrier museum!
FOD WALK (foreign object damage) - These are named after traditional military FOD Walks where sailors physically inspect and clean the flight deck of any foreign objects that could cause damage to the aircraft or personnel when blown by rotors or sucked into engines. On the Midway our FOD Walks are the cleaning out of the pad eyes, which collect a lot of dirt from everyday activity on the ship. Groups come and similate this traditional process while keeping the ship clean and ready for museum guests who come from all over the world. The lucky worker finds the "golden FOD"!
TAD WALK (Temporary Additional Duty) -A general cleaning routine of all of the museum tour routes. This includes dusting and wiping down of the walls, cleaning of glass and plastic barriers and making "discrepancy reports" of any areas that need attention. This includes lights that are out and areas that are excessively worn or damaged or in need of painting.
Team building contests can be arranged
