Samaritans is part of an international network of 400 centers in 42 countries where over 20,000 volunteers provide crisis response and emotional support services to people who are in distress, depressed and suicidal.

Requirements: We are currently seeking volunteers who can donate one weekday morning, afternoon, evening or weekend shift a week and one overnight a month. You'll be joining a group of dedicated volunteers from NYC’s diverse communities who work together in a supportive environment in a convenient Village location. Must be at least 21, have good English speaking and written skills and be able make a 6-month commitment after training. No experience necessary!
