"Volunteers: the Heart of Hospice"
Seeking compassionate, conscientious individuals to provide support to patients and their families who are in the last months of their lives.
Good listeners and good conversationalists in New Mexico---Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Gallup, Grants, Las Vegas (NM), Socorro, Belen, Los Lunas, Espanola, East Mountains (Edgewood, Tijeras, Estancia) urgently needed. Also seeking special services such as hairdressers, massage therapists, acupuncturists, musicians, Spanish & Navajo speakers. Administrative, clerical, special events volunteers also welcome. Pet/animal lovers also needed for assistance in feeding and walking patient’s pets. Also in demand are Veterans to visit with our veteran patients.
Training and support provided.
COMMITMENT: 1-2 hrs.. 2 to 4 times per month
QUALIFICATIONS: Compassion, heart, empathy, creative, flexible. Must pass background test, TB test and fingerprinting. Must have own transportation.
Must be 18 years or older.
