About

Wells Bring Hope is committed to drilling wells that bring safe water and sanitation to rural villages in Niger - the poorest country in the world. Since our inception in 2008, we have funded 323 wells - transforming the lives of 210,000 people, the majority of them children. We view the drilling of a well as the first step in reversing a downward spiral of poverty. Working with our partner, World Vision we provide 15+ years of education in sanitation, hygiene, and well maintenance for each village where we drill a well. We also provide microfinance education and support to help women in these villages to start their own businesses. We do not just drill a well and leave; we aim for significant, permanent change in every village.

We are looking for someone to ensure that WBH has another successful October fundraiser by managing a team to obtain items for our silent and live auctions by asking for in-kind donations from our list of specified high end businesses and corporations.

Required Skills:

  • Management/supervisory skills
  • Available 5 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team to contact our list of high end businesses and corporations to ask for in kind donations. Note, we have a spreadsheet of previous donors to contact, but are always looking for new ones.
  • Assist in the set up of the items at the event in October (if possible).
  • Manage the team of volunteers working at the Silent Auction area of the event (if possible).
  • Continue communication by email and phone with potential donors.
  • Call businesses yourself to ask for in-kind donations
  • Use your personal network to solicit donations for WBH’s annual fundraiser (if possible).
  • Record donations received in Excel
  • Update the Special Events Director with any progress
