The Front Porch Center for Innovation and Wellbeing (FPCIW) explores the innovative uses of technology to empower individuals to live well, especially in their later years. FPCIW works collaboratively with all stakeholders and in partnership with funding sources, researchers and technology partners. The Intern will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of responsibilities including leading the volunteers through the recruiting and clearing process and assist with the coordination and weekly placement of volunteers. This person will report to the FPCIW director.
The FPCIW Intern is expected to have transportation and a phone. Location - can work remotely from home and/or may be able to work in the Glendale headquarters or one of many project sites all over Southern California.

Job Functions

OUTREACH: Promote and manage volunteer participation

TRAINING/SUPPORT: Schedule volunteer orientation, HIPAA training, and site orientation. Support scheduled training and workshop activities at the targeted communities

ADMINISTRATION: Create outreach and presentation materials for recruitment. Recruit volunteers through contacting organizations and student groups, attending meetings and events, distributing materials and providing presentations. Coordinate volunteer processing and complete checklists. Document recruiting efforts and update volunteer status availability. Coordinate the weekly assignments and placement of volunteers. Perform follow-up calls with volunteers and project participants. Distribute and collect expense report forms.

Time Commitment and Pay

This is an unpaid, part-time volunteer position. Hours are flexible and we’ll work around the Intern’s schedule. This Internship opportunity is available to start immediately.
