Do you enjoy Japanese culture? Excited to work with kids? Looking for camp counseling or program coordinating experience? Are you organized and a team player? Summer camp may be just the opportunity for you! JFG Programs is looking for a Summer Camp Coordinator. It is a temporary volunteer position spanning spring and summer. The assistant will help the program coordinator in summer camp-specific tasks. The position requires some logistical and administrative preparations in the months leading up to summer camp and then actively serving as the leader over summer camp counselors during training and camp periods in July. During summer camp, the JFG runs programs teaching students everything from taiko drumming to learning to play go to traditional ikebana flower arrangement! Schedule: * Flexible during the months leading up to July, responsibilities include office work and other preparations such as materials and volunteer training, estimated 3 - 10 hours per week. * Coordinator assistant should be available for all three weeks of summer camp running July 10 - 14 (8am - 1pm), July 17 - 21 (12pm - 5pm), July 24-28 (12pm - 5pm). Duties: * Registering and organizing camp payments and registrations * Confirming and coordinating schedule with camp instructors * Conducting preliminary resources * Briefing and training camp counselors on camp activities (this position includes all necessary training) * Thoroughly knowing camp procedures, schedule and plan * Assisting camp coordinator with executing camp program, directing camp counselors and allocation of resources

Description
JFGM provides various opportunities for volunteers to learn and grow with the garden. From summer/winter camps, gardening/composting, activities for our vistors, taking care of bonsai trees, education on maintaining Koi fish and their ponds and many more Japanese related events that we hold throughout the year.
