Over 1 million children in California suffer from a chronic medical condition. Make a difference today.
CoachArt’s mission is to create a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness.
Think back to your own childhood and remember the joy that came from all the hobbies you loved. At CoachArt, we work to create similar memories for children impacted by chronic illness. If you like to take pictures, paint, dance, play sports, or engage in other hobbies, we have a special opportunity for you to share your passion with a CoachArt student!
You don’t have to be Pablo Picasso or Kobe Bryant to get involved. We’re looking for people that want to give children living with chronic illness an opportunity to express themselves through arts or athletics. We match volunteers with children in one-on-one or group lessons. We will provide you with Volunteer Trainings and additional resources to ensure that you feel confident in your new volunteer role!
CoachArt Volunteer Opportunities:
IN-HOME LESSONS: Lessons in a one-on-one setting, where a volunteer is matched with a student in a shared activity of choice ( i.e. painting, arts & crafts, basketball, photography, etc.). The time commitment is typically 1 hour a week for 8 weeks, and the lessons are held at the student's home.
Duties: Design a collaborative 8-week curriculum on the activity/skill you are sharing with your student. You will be provided with resources and adaptive lesson plan templates.
COACHART CLUBS: Lessons in a group setting, where a group of volunteers are matched with a group of students in an activity centered on the arts or athletics. The time commitment is typically 1.5 hours a week for 8 weeks, and the lessons are held at a community site.
Duties: Lead or assist a group of 15-20 students in an arts or athletics club. Help provide adaptive assistance to students with physical limitations.
Join the CoachArt team today to become a part of a community that connects a child in need with an opportunity to engage in the wonderful world of arts and athletics!
