Can you give the gift of 1-2 hours a week to a terminally ill patient? If you knew that the only required skill was the ablility to be a friend and a companion. If you have the time and the skillset to build friends this is a great opportunity for you.

Alacare Hoover Hospice needs you to visit patients in their home and offer them companionship once a week.

What do you do during your visit? It is simple. We can do any of patients' favorite things which can include reading, listening to their favorite music, watching their favorite television show, and just listening to them. It is always about the patient and or caregiver.

As a companionship volunteer, you will never be asked to provide clinical care. We only ask that you provide companionship to the patient and their family in a supportive non medical way.
