Do you love sports? Do you love to share your passion of sports with others around you? Special Olympics Montana, Billings Adult Program is currently seeking qualified individuals to help lead a group of energetic and inspirational adults in a Co-Local Program Coordinator role. Help organize and lead a group of Special Olympics athletes and develop your own team of coaches and volunteers.
Special Olympics Montana provides year round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharking of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes, and their community.
The adult program consists of approximately 150 athletes, 21 years of age and older based in the Billings community who participate in a variety of Olympic-type sports. Special Olympics Montana offers 4 sports seasons: Basketball, Bowling, Winter (which include snowshoe, cross country and alpine skiing, snowboarding and floor hockey), and Summer Games (events include athletics, aquatics, bocce, and soccer among others). Local Program Coordinators are responsible for all aspects of the program from securing facility locations for practice, to recruiting qualified coaches for training athletes. Other tasks include timely submission of registration materials for local and state competition and participation in fundraising events.
Individual(s) must have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills. Special Olympics Montana will provide all training and orientations to the program. Do not need sports experience to apply. Join a dynamic team of Special Olympics Volunteers TODAY!
