It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

227 West 29th St., 4RNew York, NY 10001

The Time In Children's Arts Initiative is America's leading opera and art program, specializes in providing an incredibly sophisticated arts immersion that begins from Pre-K and alternates between opera through hands-on studio art in our light-filled Chelsea studio and museum visits and gallery hops to some of the city's leading contemporary art venues. Serving over 600 children/week from some of NYC's most underserved public elementary school children from Harlem and the South Bronx, The Time In Children's Arts Initiative looks forward to your joining us!

Beginning in 3rd grade, Time In's extraordinarily impactful Arty Readers meets the intellectual, aesthetic and social-emotional needs of upper elementary school children. Taking place at the children's home schools in Harlem and the South Bronx as part of the regular school day, Arty Readers mentors kids in reading, creative writing, and the Japanese art of manga - highly technical drawing - through the prism of opera.

Volunteers will join Time In staff to work 1:1 with whole classrooms of kids on a weekly basis. As a classroom teacher recently said, "This is the highlight of their whole week!"
