The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Kennel volunteers assist in the care of the dogs in advanced training at our facility. Kennel volunteers potty the dogs, prepare meals, groom, play with, and exercise the dogs, care for our kennel kitty Betsy, and do various cleaning tasks in the kennel. There are three shifts of volunteers in the kennel daily: two volunteers from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m., two volunteers from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., and one volunteer from 9:30 - 10:30 p.m. You can volunteer for a regular shift on a weekly basis, or serve as a substitute volunteer on an occasional basis. Kennel volunteers must live with ~30 minutes of our facility.
If you are interested please fill out a volunteer application ( https://www.z2systems.com/np/clients/herodogs/survey.jsp?surveyId=4&) and if you are able to fill one of our "immediate shifts needed" please add that in the comment section.
