If you are looking for a truly rewarding volunteer experience, look no further than our visiting volunteer position. Our visiting volunteers are a special group of individuals who provide direct (nonmedical) support services to our hospice patients and their families all along the central coast. They work alongside our team of professionals to help enhance a patient’s quality of life through activities such as:
-Companionship: provide fellowship, read, listen to music, engage in other hobbies, and review photos
-Emotional Support: provide active listening and participate in life review
-Respite Care: our volunteers can stay with patient while family or caregiver run errands or attend to other needs
-Meal Preparation: prepare small meals or snacks for patient with food that is available in the home
-Light Housekeeping: vacuum, wash dishes, and dusting
-Vigil Visits: volunteers who are trained to sit with patient during their final few hours or to offer support when family is not present. The main objective of this service is to make patients feel as comfortable and supported as possible.
