The Best Buddies Friendship Walk Indianapolis supports Best Buddies efforts to provide friendship, leadership, and social inclusion opportunities throughout Indiana for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Friendship Walk committee members assist staff in managing all aspects of planning for this annual event. The Event Committee is comprised of an Event Chair, Vice/Co-Chair, Team Development Chair, Sponsorship Chair, Publicity Chair, Mission Chair, and Logistics Chair, and sub-committees for each.
Monthly meetings are held November thru February, then twice per month or as needed until the event date, April 19, 2020. Meetings are generally held at the Best Buddies office at 8604 Allisonville Road, in the Castleton area.

Best Buddies is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development and inclusive living.
Description
Best Buddies achieves its mission by matching volunteers with intellectual disabilities with non-disabled peer volunteers into mutually-enriching social friendships. In Indiana, there are over 100 chapters building one-to-one friendships in middle schools, high schools, colleges, communities and corporations. In addition, Best Buddies Jobs secures integrated employment for people with IDD in the Indianapolis area, and Best Buddies offers leadership development empowering people with and without IDD to become leaders, public speakers and advocates.
