Scholar Career Coaching is seeking for a volunteer PR to join the organization for the school year of 2021-2022. If you have prior experience in Public Relations, consider joining us to help make a difference.
The Publicist/Writer will focus on:
- Working closely with the marketing team to write the program's monthly newsletter.
- Creating and distributing monthly press releases and updating media lists continuously.
- Researching and identifying newsworthy stories to highlight and pitch to media and magazines.
- Collaborating with marketing to write and proofread storytelling video scripts, social media captions, and other writing-related content.
- Writing Media Kit
- Assisting with other media relations and mentoring program projects including but not limited to news releases, web stories, fact sheets, media pitches, talking points, video scripts, etc.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Preferred skilled or experienced Publicist/Writer/PR for this volunteer role.
*Prior experience is highly preferred.
Commitment Length: 6 months-12 months
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours weekly

Our mission is to Coach, Motivate, and Support South Florida high school college-bound students through mentoring services and scholarships, particularly English as a Second Language students.
Description
Founded in December of 2012 as a non-profit organization, Scholar Career Coaching (Scholar CC) provides college and career services to South Florida high school college-bound students in Title I high schools, with a focus on ESL (English as a Second Language) students. While our focus is on ESL, we welcome all interested high school students. Our immigrant students are from low-income minority families, many of whom will be the first generation to graduate high school and to attend college.
