The THRIVE Mentor Program is a one-on-one mentor program that matches volunteer mentors to adolescents aging out of foster care who are in need of positive supportive relationships. Youth in this program are 17 and about to turn 18.
THRIVE's goal is to recruit and train mentors to be well versed in the needs of youth who are in the process of transitioning out of foster care. A successful match will help foster care youth thrive and achieve: reduced rates of homelessness and teen pregnancy, increased rates of graduation, job stability, social skills, and healthy adult connections.
Commitment: Matches meet for a minimum of 5 hours a month and are maintained for up to 2 years. This 2 year commitment prepares them for a lifetime of success!
Our Mentors should provide support and guidance for our youth aging out of foster care and help them navigate the aging out process. Mentors should have life and social skills. Specific Trades are not important but providing positive support and encouragement would be a key skill.
Requirements: Must be 21 years of age (licensing requirement). Must be able to provide DPS level I fingerprint clearance. Consistent access to dependable and safe transportation. Must be able to meet training and agency compliance requirements for the position.
Location: We need mentors throughout the state of Arizona!

Mission Statement
Protecting Children, Empowering Youth, Strengthening Families.
Description
For more than 100 years, Arizona’s Children Association (AzCA) has stayed true to "Protecting Children, Empowering Youth, Strengthening Families," serving more than 42,000 children, individuals and families in all 15 counties in the state each year. Arizona’s Children Association provides a myriad of programs, across every county in the state, each tailored to the needs of the particular child, individual or family.
Arizona’s Children Association is one of the oldest and largest not-for-profit child welfare and behavioral health agencies in Arizona. We believe that every child deserves a permanent home that is safe and nurturing and we strive toward that goal. All programs are family focused, strength based, culturally sensitive and outcome driven.
Arizona’s Children Association employs more than 600 full-time, part-time, on-call and relief staff and we have more than 800 foster family partners throughout the state who provide safe, loving homes for kids in need. Our key personnel and Board of Directors include experts who bring a variety of skills and resources from across Arizona. They are committed to offering quality programs and services statewide in a fiscally responsible manner.
At AzCA, 90 cents of every dollar is spent on programs and services and we have been recognized by The Business Journal as one of Arizona’s top-ranking charitable organizations.
We also maintain a number of accreditations, state licenses and organization memberships that allow the agency to remain on the leading edge of child welfare and behavioral health issues in Arizona and the country. AzCA is licensed by the Arizona Departments of Behavioral Health and Economic Security and nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and Better Business Bureau.
