About

Families First provides parent support and rseources to stabilize families and prevent involvement with the child welfare system. Free parenting classes are offered to all participants, and child care is also offered free of charge to allow parents to attend without the burden of arranging child care. Volutneers provides safe child care while the parents attend classes, including supervision and facilitating activities for the children. Parenting classes are held in 8-week cycles at various locations in the Fort Worth and surrounding communities. Voluteers are asked to commit to at least 8 weeks of service. Class schedules vary, but typically occur weekday mornings and/or evenings. Classes may be held at the main campus in Fort Worth, but may be also held at various community sites/locations throughout the year. Requirements & Commitment

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • 2 hours/week for a minimum of 8 weeks.
  • A TB test is required, and Catholic Charities will pay for the expense.
