HIP provides weekend food bags to local elementary and middle school students who need them. These food bags, which we call Healthy HIP Packs, are filled with nutritious meals to make sure kids don’t go hungry on the weekend. Come out and join us at our packing parties to help assemble these HIP Packs and help with other volunteer projects! Everyone is welcome, and no training is needed beforehand. This is a great opportunity for families and children. RSVP is helpful but not required.

Packing parties are held every 1st Thursday, 3:15-4:45pm and every 3rd Wednesday, 5- 6:30pm. Contact our volunteer coordinator at VISTA@hungerintervention.org ahead of time to confirm schedule, or give us a call at 206-538-6567.

About Hunger Intervention Program

Location:

3841 NE 123rd St, Seattle, WA 98125, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Hunger Intervention Program (HIP) is to increase food security for underserved populations in north King County through nutritious meals, educational programs, and advocacy.

Description

HIP’s programs bring nutrition education to local families and vital meals to neighbors in need through our Summer Meals for Kids, Afterschool Snack, Shelter Meals, and Senior Meals programs. Our Healthy HIP Packs program also provides vital weekend food support to children at risk of hunger when they are out of school. HIP is actively engaged with many local, statewide, and national coalitions of food justice organizations to advocate for policy level changes to address hunger.
