Do you have a need for a little something more in your life...something that can provide a strong sense of connection and fulfillment? Are you looking for a way to share your knowledge, talent and heart that will have a meaningful impact on the lives of others? Volunteering here at Yorkshire and Stonebridge Manors with Comforting Hands offers you the opportunity to belong to a volunteer fellowship, benefit your well-being and do satisfying work to provide compassionate care to others, especially those near end of life. The main role of a volunteer with Comforting Hands is being a person's comforting and supportive presence, some families are not always available to visit! Volunteers also provide a listening ear to the person's concerns, engaging in creating a relaxing environment for the person, for example, giving a simple hand massage and turning on the radio, and finally the volunteer encourages the person to tell their life story. As a volunteer you can choose your best fit from a variety of opportunities to become involved in, such as: arts & crafts, music, reading, companionship, pet therapy, massage therapy, spiritual care and other areas of your expertise.
