Help save lives while working in a friendly, professional environment. The American Red Cross currently needs volunteers with daytime/weekday availability to greet and serve refreshments to blood donors at various blood drives in the Washington, DC area and our donor center at 2025 E Street, N.W. (National Headquarters of the Red American Red Cross) in Washington, D.C. Dates and times of blood drives vary. Must be comfortable with taking public transportation. Training is provided.

Description
The American Red Cross was founded over 100 years ago by Clara Barton with the purpose of relieving human suffering. Today the nonprofit organization relies on the support of volunteer staff, who outnumber paid staff 94 to 1, to continue its humanitarian work. Saving lives by providing safe blood products to hospitals is just one of the many ways in which the Red Cross continues to meet the needs of the community.
