Symphony Nova seeks board members to assist with fundraising, development, marketing and public relations. We especially would like to engage board members with connections in the Boston arts scene who can help us reach influential donors and media outlets that are interested in our mission.
Symphony Nova creates opportunities for talented music school graduates to present fine concerts, develop professionally, and serve the Boston community. We hold four concerts per year in the beautiful Old South Church in Copley Square, Boston. Our Music Director, Lawrence Isaacson, is a vibrant presence in the classical music world. He is known for inspiring audiences with exciting, interactive and creative concerts, helping them to discover the classical tradition’s depth, beauty and relevance today.
Symphony Nova hand-selects Nova fellows annually. We aim to develop self-sufficient musicians who will use their classical music background to explore culturally relevant opportunities to connect with today’s shifting artistic world. With the many changes happening in the traditional business and artistic model of today’s symphony orchestra, we want to be on the crest of the tide - not only to ensure the success of our musicians, but also the longevity of this important cultural medium.
