RSI Molecular and Synthetic Biology Internship for Biotech

Regenerative Sciences Institute (RSI) is accepting applications for our Biotechnology Internship Program.

Volunteer interns will have the rare opportunity to be instructed by senior investigators in molecular and synthetic biology and biotechnology research related to the AMRITA initiative focused on enhancing regeneration and genetic reprogramming. Research will involve application of synthetic and molecular biology techniques to the discovery of basic regeneration mechanisms and the development of regenerative medicine therapies. Interns will be expected to commit at least 30 hours/week for at least 1 year. This is a volunteer position, so no compensation is available. At the successful completion of this program, interns will have achieved a working knowledge of molecular and synthetic biology techniques, mammalian cell culture and the research methodology sufficient to enter into the biotechnology industry. Depending on the project scope, techniques may include: Cas9/CRISPR, AAV, lentivirus, Gibson cloning, gene assembly, synthetic biology, tissue culture, stem cell culture, and iPS cell culture. Our former interns have pursued careers in medicine, scientific research and industry. We only have an opening every few years. The internship is sponsored by Regenerative Sciences Institute (RSI), a non-profit academic research organization in the heart of the Silicon Valley in Sunnyvale, CA.
